I was looking recently at the questions people ask about Rently UAE on Google, social media, and in conversations with our team. The same questions kept coming back: “Is Rently UAE legit?” “How does Rently work?” “Can I trust this?” “What are the fees?” “Is there a Rently app?” I understand why people ask. Rent is usually one of the biggest payments in a person’s life, and when a company helps manage that payment, trust has to come before everything else. So I wanted to write this myself, not only to answer the questions we hear every week, but also to explain what Rently is, why we created it, and what we are building in the UAE. Before building Rently, I was also a tenant. An expat tenant, to be precise. I lived in Singapore, where moving into a home meant trying to understand rental rules I had never dealt with before, transferring a large security deposit to someone I barely knew, and hoping everything I had read online about rental scams would not happen to me.
That feeling stays with you.
You find an apartment you like. Then the questions begin.

Will I get my deposit back?
Am I signing the right document?
Why do I have to pay so much upfront?

These questions are not small. They are the difference between feeling at home and feeling exposed.
That is why we built Rently.
What is Rently UAE?
Rently UAE is a Rent Now, Pay Later platform that helps tenants pay rent monthly, while landlords receive the rent upfront.
In the UAE, many tenants are still asked to pay rent through large upfront cheques. For some people, that is manageable. For many others, it creates pressure.
A tenant may be able to afford the monthly rent but still struggle with the upfront cost of cheques, agency fees, moving costs, furniture, and security deposit all at once.
Rently helps solve that gap.
We give tenants a way to spread their rent into monthly payments, while giving landlords the confidence of receiving the rent upfront.
That balance matters. A rental solution only works if it helps both sides.
Is Rently UAE legit?
Yes, Rently UAE is legitimate.
Rently was founded in Singapore in 2022 by Dominic Schacher, Siebren Kamphorst, Tarik Stafford, Kutlay Kunbi and myself. We expanded to the UAE in July 2024 because we saw a clear need: tenants wanted more flexibility, landlords wanted certainty, and agents needed a smoother way to close deals.
Since launching in the UAE, Rently UAE has handled AED 50M+ in rental transactions.
We have also partnered with well-known real estate agencies, including Betterhomes, White & Co and RE/MAX.
In December 2025, we integrated UAE Pass authentication, adding another layer of trust and identity verification to the process.

How does Rently work?
The process is designed to be straightforward.
First, you use the Rently Calculator to estimate your monthly rent and service fee.
Then, if the numbers make sense, you can submit your details. We review your application, check eligibility, and help structure the rental payment.
Once approved, Rently pays the landlord according to the agreed rental structure, and the tenant pays Rently monthly.
In other words:
The landlord gets certainty.

Rently pricing depends on a few things:
The annual rent amount, the lease duration, the number of cheques requested by the landlord, and whether Rently also needs to pay the security deposit.
This matters because every rental contract is different.
A 12-month lease paid in one cheque is not the same as a lease paid in four cheques. A tenant who needs help with the security deposit has a different structure from someone who pays the deposit directly.
So instead of hiding the price, we show it early.
Trust starts before the application.
Can Rently help with the security deposit?
Yes, in some cases Rently can also pay the security deposit and spread it into instalments.
As an expat, the security deposit was always one of the most uncomfortable parts of renting. You are new to a country. You may not fully understand the laws. You may not know what is normal. You transfer a large amount of money and hope the relationship stays fair until the end of the lease.
Most landlords are honest. Most tenants are honest too.
But the fear comes from not knowing.
Rently cannot remove every risk from renting. No company can. But we can make the payment process clearer, more structured and easier to manage.

The Rently UAE mobile app is planned for release at the end of May 2026. It will be available on both Android and iOS.

Why we built Rently
Rent is usually the biggest monthly cost in a person’s life.
Yet the process often feels more complicated than it should.

An agent may have a good deal but lose it because the payment terms do not work.
Rently exists in the space between those concerns.
We are not trying to make renting feel like buying a coffee. Housing is too important for that. But we are trying to make the financial side of renting more transparent, more flexible and more human.
That is what I wish I had when I was figuring things out as an expat tenant in Singapore.
